Fastex® Grimloc™ Locking D-Ring can be used on any 1″ wide piece of webbing and replaces the metal carabiner for attachment of lanyards, weapons, and accessories.
The United States military wanted a new fastener to replace the traditional metal carabiners it’s soldiers were using to attach gear to their webbing, chest rigs and body armour.
ITW Nexus responded with the development and production of the Grimloc Locking Carabiner, constructed with GhillieTex, an IR signature reducing material.
It is fabricated from high strength lightweight plastic, incorporates GhillieTex™ IR-signature reduction technology, and resists solar heating.
Since the Grimloc™ is made from plastic, it will not serve as a platform for ricochets or become a secondary projectile.
Strong enough to carry equipment, yet smart enough to break with a soldier’s weight to avoid snagging, it’s release button is textured for ease of use with gloved or wet hands.
The button also works as a pump for clearing our sand or water through its drain holes.
The plastic will also not become a secondary projectile or ricochet in combat.
Used extensively by the United States Army and Marine Corps.
